Senior Software Engineer (ASP.NET MVC, C#) - Derby/Remote
East Midlands / Remote / £45,000-£60,000
The role of a Senior Developer can differ in every business.
For this team just outside of Derby, who’ve just kicked off their search for a Senior, it’d mean you’ll find yourself in a great position to influence things – whether that’s working with the leadership team to define the technical roadmap, looking at the wider architecture of their platform or providing mentorship to some of their Junior Developers.
You wouldn’t need to have been a ‘Senior’ before either, you’d just the desire to make that step up and take on additional responsibilities.
They’re a privately owned business with a headcount around 30 (the majority within tech/dev) – so there’d be plenty of likeminded people to bounce ideas off, a relaxed working environment, lots of greenfield work and little/no red tape when it comes to decision making.
Tech wise, you’d need to demonstrate a background working with .NET, ASP.NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, SQL/T-SQL and Visual Studio – any exposure with .NET Core, Microservices and Azure DevOps would be a welcomed bonus.
For now, I can see the role paying £45,000-£60,000 plus package, with includes private healthcare and your birthday off – there could be some flex, but I can’t imagine a great deal.
You’d also be able to work from home 3 or 4 days a week – coming into their office in Hilton (between Derby and Burton) once or twice a week. You’d be provided plenty of progression and training opportunities, covering things like Pluralsight subscriptions and they encourage their team to take on Microsoft certifications.
